Javea is a favoured resort on the Costa Blanca, retaining its charm, still being one of the prettiest areas on the Mediterranean coast.Javea is made up on three popular areas: The Old Town, Port and The Arenal.
The Old Town,a labyrinth of narrow streets, hiding away beautiful architecture, large Gothic windows with wrought iron grilles, a real must to walk around and explore. Within the Old Town you will find the Town Hall, and the Church Fortress of Sant Bertomeu, and nearby the daily Municipal Market. Every Thursday there is a street market with locals selling fresh produce, linens, hardware, clothes and generally something for all.
The Port, now a bustling modern arena, where the traditional fishing boats moor alongside the contemporary yachts. Adjacent are a variety of shops, typical restaurants and bars filled with Tapas and fresh fish. Or you could just stroll along the promenade and watch the sea. Finally The Arenal, here you will find an unblemished beach area with finesand and shallow water. Surrounded by a generous supply of shops and restaurants. A popular place to promenade after enjoying a meal. At the northern end of the Arenal beach area presides the Parador Costa Blanca, famously once a settlement to the Romans. Javea has been noted as one of the healthiest areas on the Costa Blanca by the World Health Organisation
